As the number of Spanish speakers in the United States increases so does the number of Chevy owners requesting OnStar in Spanish. OnStar has had Spanish-speaker advisors for years, but the numbers of Spanish calls coming in is increasing.
In fact, Chevrolet says more than 1,000 Spanish speakers press the OnStar button every day, which is 30% more than in 2013.
“We understand that not all Chevrolet owners speak English fluently or at all…” said Terry Inch, executive director of GM’s Global Connected Customer Experience. “As a result, OnStar has a dedicated team of advisors who can help Spanish-speaking customers keep safe, connected and ready for the road ahead.”
Chevrolet owners can have their OnStar requests automatically routed to the Spanish team if they want. They can either set this up at the dealership with an OnStar welcome call or request the feature themselves at any time by pressing the blue OnStar button in their Chevrolet vehicle.
Every new Chevrolet vehicle includes the OnStar Basic Plan for five years at no charge. The Basic Plan includes great features like Dealer Maintenance Notification, Advanced Diagnostics, and access to the myChevrolet mobile app.
