Summer may last longer here in Texas than in other parts of the US, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to get out and celebrate autumn the right way. Here are two exciting fall events in McKinney, Texas, to check out with friends and family this year.
11th Annual McKinney OktoberFest
The McKinney Oktoberfest has been a tradition in Downtown McKinney since 2008. This year, the three-day event will be held on Friday, September 28, from 5 to 11:30 p.m.; Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.; and Sunday, September 30, from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are on sale now online. The event includes delicious German food like brats and schnitzel, as well as scrumptious German beer. Entertainment includes a carnival, the Bavarian Experience stage, games, contests, parades, petting zoos, live music, and more.
Scare on the Square
If fall is more of a Halloween season to you, you’ll enjoy Historic Downtown McKinney’s Scare on the Square event held on Wednesday, October 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. This event is free to the public. Bring the whole family for a day of fun, with activities like pumpkin races, a costume contest, and a concert.
