Over time, it is expected that your car will become dirty. However, there is no need for you to take it to a professional to have it cleaned. Save yourself some money, and do it yourself. If you follow these simple tips, you will be able to detail your car like a pro.
The first step is to get out the air compressor. This is a great tool to get all of the dust out of the corners and cracks of your car. If you blow it from the corners of your car and into the center, it’s much easier to vacuum later. You can also turn it onto your vents to clean out the air system.
After getting rid of the dust, move to the exterior of the car. It’s important that you don’t use an acidic cleaner on your car. This will eat away at the protective layers on your paint and rims. Instead, use a soap that was designed specifically to be used on cars.
If you follow these simple steps, your car will be looking clean and professional in no time. You’ll also save yourself a bit of money by not taking into a shop.
Throughout the life of a car, there are lot of nicks and dings that happen on accident. You will inevitably experience a scratch on your car at some point in time. Instead of spending a bunch of money to have it fixed at a shop, learn how to fix it on your own. Follow these simple steps, and you’ll be able to fix a scratch on your car like a pro.
Step 1: Clean the surface around the scratch, and make sure that there isn’t any dirt or residue. This should be done with a soft cloth. Masking the trim around the area where you will be working may be a wise idea.
Step 2: Polish the area that you cleaned. After a few strokes of polish, clean the area with a soft rag. Make sure that it’s dry. Go slowly to make sure that you don’t go through the clear coat.
Step 3: Purchase primer and matching paint. If you are unsure what color paint that you need, simply take a sample into the store to get it matched.

Now that you know how to fix simple scratches, you will save yourself a lot of money.
Spending the holidays with your loved ones is what the Christmas season is all about. If you don’t have family Christmas traditions, 2016 could be the year to start one. A tradition isn’t always a major event and it can even be something small that you do together. Here are some interesting family Christmas traditions suggested by us here at El Dorado Chevrolet. Happy holidays
Lights – Take the time to visit a local light display this year. Many cities decorate the square, park or Main Street accordingly. Even if the weather is cold, driving is an option which means this is one tradition you’ll have no excuse not to keep!
Movie – A family Christmas tradition could be something as simple as watching a classic movie, like How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The kids will love it and it’s a tradition that can carry on for the next generation as well.
Card – Many families have a Christmas card professionally made every year. That can get a little expensive depending on what services you use. For those with a little extra money, it can be a great way to stay in touch with loved ones. It can also serve as a personal memento of your family. Add to the collection year after year and look back on the memories as time goes by.
The Chevrolet Equinox has quickly made its way onto the brand’s list of bestselling vehicles. It currently falls just short of the top spot which is held by the Silverado pickup. The popular SUV has become something of a hit and, as a result, it was tapped to kick off the revitalization of Chevrolet’s crossover and SUV lineups. The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is ready to make some major changes and debuted during the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Los Angeles Auto Show kicked off on November 18th and ended just before Thanksgiving.
“The all-new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is a modern SUV sized and designed to meet the needs of the compact SUV customer,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and brand chief, Global Chevrolet.
2018 Chevrolet Equinox Features
The new SUV will also boast three available engines, all of which are turbocharged four cylinders. A 1.6-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine makes up one of the options. The final two engines are conventional gasoline engines mated to a brand new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Because of these awesome features, here at El Dorado Chevrolet, we’re waiting impatiently for the 2018 Equinox to make its way to our lot!

The State Fair of Texas is a big event every year. It features trucks and truck-lovers alike, but it only has one Chevy Truck Legend.
This year, the Official Chevy Truck Legend of Texas was named: a 16-year-old Silverado with over 375,000 miles on it. Its owner, Lonzo Anderson, has been through a lot with the truck. He has driven his 2000 Silverado every day and it still holds the original engine.
Lonzo Anderson loves his Chevy and gives it credit for its dependability, “My favorite thing about my truck is that I can always depend on it. I was once called into work during an ice storm that left most people in the area stranded at home. Thanks to my Silverado, I was able to get out of my neighborhood and back to work with no trouble.”
The Chevy Truck Legends customer appreciation program exists to honor impressive Chevy trucks and owners. Any resident of Texas with more than 100,000 miles on their odometer are eligible to enter their truck in the program. Chevy Truck Legends like Lonzo Anderson will receive memorabilia, free car washes, discount oil changes, and more!
The Chevy Truck Legends program will soon be premiering nationally, so get that Chevy Truck of yours ready!

The 2017 Camaro ZL1 is the most powerful Camaro ever built. This model was designed for the track, with unparalleled performance options and a sleek new design. The 2017 Camaro ZL1 performance sets it apart from most other models on the road, making it stand out on both the track and the highway.
According to Chevy, the ZL1 can do 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. You heard right. It can even do a quarter mile in 11.4 seconds (at 127 mph). This Camaro gets up to 650 horsepower thanks to a supercharged LT4 6.2-liter V8 engine. Compared to the 1LE, the ZL1 is a speed demon.
“Building on Chevrolet’s well-established recipe for track-focused performance, the new 1LE packages expand the performance envelope of the Camaro SS and, for the first time, the Camaro LT,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “You’ll be hard-pressed to find more track-capable cars in their respective classes for the money.”
The ZL1 didn’t just add a big engine; this model has some other upgrades. This includes a 220-pound weight reduction, which also increases handling and fuel economy. It gets the SS FE3 suspension with Magnetic Ride dampers, as well as a limited-slip differential. There’s nothing quite like the new ZL1.
