The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is a monster on the track, but it pales in comparison to the latest creation to roll out of the production facility. The new Chevrolet Camaro race car is a proven monster with a literal track-ready design. The Camaro GT4.R is ready to take the track by storm thanks to a whole host of equipment that optimizes performance.
Chevrolet released the first photos of the real race car just a few weeks ago and there are few words that properly describe it. Astounding doesn’t quite do the car justice. Based on the 2017 Camaro ZL1 production muscle car, the race model packs a powerful engine and plenty of track-oriented features.
A new aero kit keeps all four tires on the ground while special Ohlins coil-overs and Brembo brakes do the heavy lifting. The 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine comes mated to a six-speed transmission. Paddle shifters the transmission which also features adjustable traction control to avoid any accidental impacts with the wall.
The Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R saw some time in a wind tunnel to help improve aerodynamics. The end result was the addition of a new front splitter, diveplanes, and rear wing.
We at El Dorado Chevrolet are excited to see how well the new Chevrolet Camaro race car performs on the track!
A simple wash and wax is great, but what every car really needs is some love and care to kick off spring. Vehicles that have endured a harsh winter are in need of some routine maintenance in order to prepare for warmer weather. Check out these spring car maintenance tips from us here at El Dorado Chevrolet and enjoy the warmer weather!
Tires – Fluctuations in temperature can cause your tire pressure to go up and down constantly. That’s why it’s important to check each tire’s pressure once a week to ensure they’re properly inflated. As the weather gets warmer, your tire pressure will likely rise, so be sure to keep an eye out to avoid over-inflation problems.
Wipers – Winter isn’t exactly a lightweight in many climates, so odds are your wipers felt some of the pain. Worn wipers simply won’t do in heavy spring rains. Take a few minutes out of your day to replace your old wipers with a new set. They’re relatively inexpensive and are a vital safety feature to your vehicle.
Battery – A car requires more current to start during colder weather. That can put some strain on your car’s battery, which is why it’s important to look it over once a month. If your battery is more than two years old, consider getting a new one, just to be safe.
It’s already March, which means that spring is right around the corner and the weather is already starting to warm up. No more jackets and gloves! What do Chevrolet owners love more than their Chevy models? Well, according to statistics, mobile data. A recent look at how much data is used by Chevrolet owners when driving their vehicles suggests that drivers love having Wi-Fi on the go. The survey says that Chevy drivers who have OnStar 4G LTE used a grand total of 4.2 million gigabytes of data last year in 2016, a 200% increase over the amount of data used on the go the previous year.
The reason? Demand for fun stuff inside your vehicle—such as music, movies, integrated navigation, and other connectivity features that make life easier—has skyrocketed. According to GM North America president Alan Batey, drivers now consider these features “an integral part of their day-to-day lives.”
Chevy broke down the stats even further to show which nameplates get the most data usage. Between 2015 and 2016, the Suburban and Tahoe showed the biggest increase, showcasing that OnStar 4G LTE tends to be the most popular among large, family-friendly SUVs. No surprise there, considering the popularity of built-in entertainment systems that features on-the-go movies and audio books.
If you’re interested in getting OnStar 4G LTE in your next vehicle, El Dorado Chevrolet can introduce you to a variety of subscription plans and help you through the process.
