The beginning of a new school year can be an exciting and nerve-wracking time for kids and parents alike. Here are some back to school tips to help your family ease back into the academic year.
Tour the school: Make sure you attend the school’s open house. An event like this lets you and your child meet the teachers, while also familiarizing your child with the school’s layout. Younger kids might feel more comfortable once they know where to find their desk, playground and classroom.
Reconnect with friends: If your children didn’t get to see their school friends during summer, schedule a playdate in the weeks leading up to school. This is a fun way to refresh your child’s friendships — and to ensure your kid has a friend on the first day of school.
Splurge on a few supplies: Kids use their notebooks, pens and pencils for the whole school year. If your child loves the glittery notebook or wants a pencil with dinosaurs printed on it, go ahead and splurge. Your child will be excited to use these cool supplies on the first day of school, making it much more fun for your little one to head back to class.

When your teen takes the wheel, you want to teach them safe, responsible driving habits. Luckily, your Chevy comes with Teen Driver mode, which can help you set safety restrictions and monitor your young driver’s habits. Here’s a look at what Chevrolet Teen Driver has to offer.
Buckle to drive: Unless the driver is buckled up, the vehicle won’t shift out of park for 20 seconds. It also uses audio-visual alerts to remind your teen to buckle up.
Speed warning: This feature allows you to set a maximum speed. The vehicle will display visual and audio alerts if that speed limit is breached.
Speed limiter: With this setting, you can prevent your teen from going over the speed limit of your choice, with a maximum of 85 mph.
Volume limit: A blaring stereo can be distracting to a new driver. Teen Driver mode lets you establish a maximum volume limit.
Seat belt audio mute: If you’re looking for a way to make sure your teen buckles up, enable this rule. Unless your teen and their front passenger buckle up, Teen Driver will mute the stereo.
Better yet, Chevrolet Teen Driver is convenient. All you have to do is register your preferred Teen Driver settings to your teen’s key fob. That way, you won’t have to manually disable the settings each time you want to crank up the volume.
