The event, which features a parade of over 250 costumed dogs as well as a festival held in Mitchell Park, is modeled after the New Orleans tradition of the same name that aims to fundraise for animal welfare. This year, thousands of spectators are expected to attend the parade that will feature pups of all sizes dressed as pop idols.

Arts in Bloom

The McKinney Main Street collective is hosting the Arts in Bloom event in early spring from April 17 – 19 in historic downtown. During the festival, over 150 artists from local schools and the Artist Village will converge to sell and showcase paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and photography.
