Krewe of Barkus
The 18th annual McKinney Krewe of Barkus will be held on Sunday, February 23, in historic downtown. The event, which features a parade of over 250 costumed dogs as well as a festival held in Mitchell Park, is modeled after the New Orleans tradition of the same name that aims to fundraise for animal welfare. This year, thousands of spectators are expected to attend the parade that will feature pups of all sizes dressed as pop idols.
Arts in Bloom
The McKinney Main Street collective is hosting the Arts in Bloom event in early spring from April 17 – 19 in historic downtown. During the festival, over 150 artists from local schools and the Artist Village will converge to sell and showcase paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and photography. Festival-goers can enjoy free admission and a free shuttle to transport them to the event, which includes live music, delicious food, and a Kids Creation Station to entertain and enrich the little ones.
No matter the time of year, McKinney, Texas, is filled with plenty of entertaining community events. When you’re out exploring McKinney, make sure to stop by El Dorado Chevrolet to check out our new Chevy models.
Spending the holidays with your loved ones is what the Christmas season is all about. If you don’t have family Christmas traditions, 2016 could be the year to start one. A tradition isn’t always a major event and it can even be something small that you do together. Here are some interesting family Christmas traditions suggested by us here at El Dorado Chevrolet. Happy holidays
Lights – Take the time to visit a local light display this year. Many cities decorate the square, park or Main Street accordingly. Even if the weather is cold, driving is an option which means this is one tradition you’ll have no excuse not to keep!
Movie – A family Christmas tradition could be something as simple as watching a classic movie, like How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The kids will love it and it’s a tradition that can carry on for the next generation as well.
Card – Many families have a Christmas card professionally made every year. That can get a little expensive depending on what services you use. For those with a little extra money, it can be a great way to stay in touch with loved ones. It can also serve as a personal memento of your family. Add to the collection year after year and look back on the memories as time goes by.
The Chevrolet Equinox has quickly made its way onto the brand’s list of bestselling vehicles. It currently falls just short of the top spot which is held by the Silverado pickup. The popular SUV has become something of a hit and, as a result, it was tapped to kick off the revitalization of Chevrolet’s crossover and SUV lineups. The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is ready to make some major changes and debuted during the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Los Angeles Auto Show kicked off on November 18th and ended just before Thanksgiving.
“The all-new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is a modern SUV sized and designed to meet the needs of the compact SUV customer,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and brand chief, Global Chevrolet.
2018 Chevrolet Equinox Features
The new SUV will also boast three available engines, all of which are turbocharged four cylinders. A 1.6-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine makes up one of the options. The final two engines are conventional gasoline engines mated to a brand new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Because of these awesome features, here at El Dorado Chevrolet, we’re waiting impatiently for the 2018 Equinox to make its way to our lot!
Mike Trout, centerfielder for the LA Angels, was recently voted the MLB All-Star Game Most Valuable Player. Not only does he receive the honor of an MVP award during a ceremony, but Trout will also get a Silverado Midnight Edition for all his hard work and talent.
According to Chevy, Trout hit a home run and scored a separate run late in the game, leading to the American League’s 6-3 victory. He was given the choice between a new Camaro Convertible and the MLB All-Star Silverado, and he chose the pickup.
“Mike’s on-field performance was All-Star caliber and worthy of one of Chevrolet’s All-Stars,” said Brian Sweeney, VP of Chevrolet. “Chevrolet also encourages future All-Stars through our more than 1,500 dealers who support Chevy Youth Baseball.”
The Midnight Edition pickup comes with an all-black front end with body-colored grille, bumper, headlamp bezels, tow hooks and fog lamps; black side moldings and beltline moldings; 18-inch black painted alloy wheels special Z71 badges on the doors and black Chevrolet bowties front and rear.
